Brennan Dominates Taft in 56-7 District Victory

The Brennan Bears made a statement Saturday night, rolling past the Taft Raiders 56-7 in a dominant district performance.
Brennan entered the matchup at 1-1 after opening the season with a narrow loss to Vandegrift before responding with a 63-0 shutout victory over Reagan. Taft arrived at 2-0 after opening the season with wins over its first two opponents.
From the opening kickoff, Brennan controlled the game on both sides of the football. The Bears' offense consistently moved the ball while the defense limited Taft's opportunities to generate momentum.
The victory was especially important for Brennan as the Bears continued their push through district play. Brennan's defense had already shown its ability to create problems for opposing offenses, and the Bears followed that up with another impressive performance against Taft.
Taft entered the season looking to return to the playoffs after missing the postseason in 2025. The Raiders had several close district losses last year and returned with the goal of turning those narrow defeats into wins.
Instead, Brennan's fast start put Taft in a difficult position, and the Bears never allowed the Raiders to get back into the game.
For Brennan, the 56-7 victory moves the Bears to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in district play, giving them back-to-back wins after their opening-week loss.
The Bears will now turn their attention toward their next district matchup against Sotomayor on September 19.
Taft, meanwhile, will look to regroup and respond as the Raiders continue their district schedule.
With district play underway, Brennan has quickly established itself as a team capable of making noise in the San Antonio high school football landscape. The Bears will look to carry the momentum from their dominant win over Taft into the rest of the season.
