Friday Night Lights: Moody Takes on Calallen in District Opener

Corpus Christi Moody is set to host Calallen on Friday at 7 p.m. in the District 15-4A Division I opener. The Trojans enter at 1-3 after a big 43-0 shutout win over Falfurrias, while Calallen comes in at 3-1, fresh off a 45-31 victory against Sinton. One of the key storylines to watch is the battle in the trenches. Calallen is averaging just over 250 rushing yards per game, so Moody's defense will need to be ready. Meanwhile, the Trojans will look to replicate the energy and execution from their shutout win.

District play raises the stakes, and both teams will be looking to start strong. Kickoff is set for 7 pm Friday at Corpus Christi Moody.

For Moody, watch their running game to set the tone and their defensive front to slow down Calallen's rushing attack. For Calallen, ball security and sustaining drives will be key. First district game pressure can swing fast, so early momentum could matter a lot.
